〔フクイチ核惨事〕◆ 北米・太平洋岸で海水から検出されたフクイチ・セシウム、7 Bq/m^3 を、ウッヅホール海洋研では「痕跡の合計値（trace amounts）と言っているが、それは（痕跡といって軽視できるものではなく）「予想数値の２９倍もの値であり」「重大な、しかも測定しうるもの。（海洋放射能）猛襲（onslaught）の始まりすぎない」――アーニー・グンダーセンさんが警告！

　★　グンダーセンさんは「フクイチ海洋プルーム・セシウム」が、こんご北米西海岸を「猛襲（オンスロート）」とすると言っている。

　この onslaught という言葉は、かなり強い表現である。

　濃度のより高い、セシウムを含んだ海水塊が来襲するということは、それを同等濃度、等量のストロンチウムも北米西海岸を襲うはず。

　カリフォルニアのビーチに砕けるサーフからストロンチウムが検出されたりしたら、東電を相手取った訴訟が続発する事態にもなりかねない。

　フクイチ海洋プルームの北米漂着のピークは、年末ごろになる見込み。

　こんご、どうなるか、要注意である。

　・　“My latest concern is shifting, as the exposure for cesium has gone done 10,000 times, but it has stayed pretty constant for strontium-90.”

　Strontium-90 is a byproduct of nuclear fission and behaves more like calcium than salt, embedding itself in bones, and can take two years rather than two months to pass through the body. While strontium isn’t currently heavily present in the ocean, there are thousands of tons of it in the contamination in the tanks at Fukushima, and it’s very, very hard to clean up.

　“150 million gallons have been collected in tanks, and it’s all very, very high in strontium-90,” he says. “There’s a hundred times more in the tanks than was ever released. It’s more dangerous and there’s more of it there.”

　For their part, the Japanese cleanup teams are working at containing it.

　・　At 7:30 in — Last week, Woods Hole announced a study that showed that about… 7 becquerels per cubic meter [has reached the west coast of North America].

　They called it ‘trace amounts’. I don’t call 7 Bq/m^3 a ‘trace amount’… that’s significant and measurable, and it’s just the beginning of the onslaught.

　There was a study in 2012 that predicted how much radiation was going to get to the west coast of B.C. … [It] was 29 times lower than what [Woods Hole] actually measured.

　So scientists have no clue how to measure what’s transporting through the ocean. Studies two years ago are already wrong by essentially a factor of 30.

　The scientists’… real goal was to downplay the significance of the damage to the Pacific Ocean. It is in fact 29 times worse than predicted.
