　★　返還の対象となるのは、「日本原子力研究開発機構」が「高速炉臨界実験装置（ＦＣＡ）」用に保有していた全ての「高濃縮ウラン（ＨＥＵ）」と分離プルトニウム――だそうだ。

　プルトニウムはともかく、「返還」される「高濃縮ウラン（ＨＥＵ）」は、米国から「貸与」されていたものだろうか？

　素朴な疑問だが、日本が密かに（独自に）濃縮していた兵器級のＨＥＵを米国が問題視し、貸与プルトニウムとともに、放棄させたのではないか？

　この返還で、すべてが片付くわけではない。

　ワシントン・ポストによると、兵器級とは別に、日本は「９．３トンの低級プルトニウム」を保持している。

　「低級」とはいえ、これは日本の技術力をもってすれば簡単に核兵器化できるもので、これまた核テロのターゲットになりやすい。

　In addition to the weapons-grade material Japan is giving back, it maintains a stockpile of 9.3 tons of lesser-grade plutonium that could be easily weaponized by a country of Japan’s sophistication. That material also could present an attractive target for terrorists.

　それから「六ヶ所」での再処理稼働問題…………。

　日本の「脱核化」は緒についたばかりだ。

　Miles Pomper, a nuclear expert at the Monterey Institute of International Studies, called the return of the materials “a step in the right direction.”

　Today in The Hague, the Netherlands, on the occasion of the third Nuclear Security Summit, Prime Minister Abe and President Obama pledged to remove and dispose all highly-enriched uranium (HEU) and separated plutonium from the Fast Critical Assembly (FCA) at the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) in Japan.
